Attractive Resemblance to Natural Stone:

LodeStoneTM has a pleasing resemblance to natural stone. The chiseled face veneer blocks are convincing, projecting out irregularly from a common mortar plane, and providing deep shadows that change as the light shifts throughout the day. Smooth face veneer blocks provide the stately appearance of cut stone. Accompanying trim shapes are smooth face, and come in standard 3'-11 5/8" lengths. Four colors are currently available - light buff, dark buff, castle gray, and rose.

Reduced Environmental Burden:

In the LodeStoneTM mix design, a recycled material is used as the principal binder. Class C fly ash, a coal combustion by-product, is substituted for most of the portland cement typically used in concrete. The production of portland cement accounts for a large amount of the carbon emissions into the atmosphere, while most fly ash is currently thrown away. So, the LodeStoneTM mix design mix design makes greater use of coal that has already been burned, diverts a useful material out of the landfill, and lowers CO2 emissions through reduced demand for portland cement. For projects abiding by the LEEDTM rating system, LodeStoneTM contributes to credits for Recycled Content.

Reliable

LodeStoneTM has been in product development about 3 years. Class C fly ash has many of the same chemical ingredients as portland cement, but in different proportions. By building on those similarities, and allowing for the differences, we've refined a mix design that achieves a very strong stone at a very modest cost.

Competitively Priced:

LodeStoneTM prices compare very favorably with similar natural or manufactured products. Unit price for LodeStoneTM blocks is $6.25/SF. Standard LodeStoneTM trim is $6.50/LF. Larger copings sell for $8.25/LF. The greatest cost savings arise from designs which take advantage of LodeStone’sTM standard shapes and sizes. This is practical with LodeStoneTM because on-site cutting and tooling is easy, and reliably attractive. Prices for custom assemblies are available on request.

Strength and Durability:

LodeStoneTM has a compressive strength of 5000(+) PSI and a water absorption of 6.5%(-) as measured per ASTM C1194 and C1195, respectively. LodeStoneTM also measures up to the demands of severe weather rated brick for freeze-thaw resistance, per ASTM C67.

Future Product Development:

As a manufacturer we intend to provide building designers with a sufficient product line to make their buildings compelling, cost effective, long lasting and environmentally sensitive. We invite your feedback.
